What the statuses mean
- Out
- Will not play in the next game.
- Doubtful
- Unlikely to play.
- Questionable
- Uncertain to play; usually decided close to game time.
- Day-to-day
- Minor injury, re-checked every day.
- GTD
- Game-time decision: settled shortly before the game.
- IR / IL
- Injured Reserve (NFL, NHL) or Injured List (MLB): out a set minimum, like 4 NFL games or 10, 15 or 60 MLB days.
- Probable
- Expected to play.
- Active
- Still on the report, but cleared to play.
“Expected back” is the date the team or outlet reported: an estimate, not a promise.
